Ukrainian paratroopers of the 82nd Bucovina independent air assault brigade demonstrated the “road of death” in the Kursk region, between the settlements of Snagost and Green Way.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the official Telegram channel.
This 14 kilometer stretch became the scene of fierce fighting, where Ukrainian defenders destroyed much Russian equipment. The road is reportedly littered with burnt debris left by Russian troops as a result of their defeats.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russian 155th Marine Brigade suffered heavy losses in this area, leaving behind equipment worth millions of dollars.
Among those destroyed were T-72 tanks, military equipment BMD-1, BM-3, BMD-4, BMP-2, Akhmat combat vehicle, BTR-82A armored personnel carrier, Tiger combat and MT-LB motorcycle. league. The Ukrainian military notes that its units consistently destroyed enemy equipment, turning the road into a searing trail of Russian combat losses.
Recall that, according to the expert, the Russian Federation does not have enough troops to push back the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region.
Russia continues to increase its military presence in the Kursk region, seeking to dislodge Ukrainian troops and strengthen control in this direction.
According to Lieutenant General Igor Romanenko, more than 55 thousand Russian military personnel have already been concentrated for this purpose, but at least 80 to 120 thousand soldiers will be needed to significantly counter Ukraine and push it back to the border.
Romanenko noted that fighting in the region is taking place with great intensity, especially on the Western Front. In this area, Ukrainian forces, combining two tactical groups, launched a successful attack on the enemy in the Novoivanovka area, which stopped their advance. The main task of the Russian troops in this direction is to divide the Ukrainian group and cut off its northern logistical routes.
The recent arrival of up to 12,000 North Korean troops in the Kursk region, including 500 officers and three generals, increases the complexity for Ukraine. According to Romanenko, the number of North Korean units reaches two brigades and they remain in the region to reinforce positions and not to replace Russian forces.
The situation also remains tense in the Donetsk region. In the Selidovo area, Ukrainian forces will probably be forced to withdraw under the pressure of the advancing Russian army. The main goal of the invaders here is to capture the city of Pokrovsk.
