Mark Fisherthe activist and one of the co-founders of the Black Lives Matter movement in Rhode Island, announced his intention to vote for Donald Trump in the American elections which will take place this Tuesday. Considers that the vice president of the United States and candidate of the Democratic Party for president of the nation, Kamala Harris, “It would be disastrous for the country” if he came to power. “If he ever came close to power, it would be a disaster for this country. The Democratic Party is the party for which black people vote overwhelmingly. But we didn’t get anything in return, it’s crazy,” he said.
“We have been blindly loyal to the Democratic Party for no reason,” Fisher said to show his support for Donald Trump. “I’ve been a Democrat all my life. I waited for Joe Biden in 2020. Which I regret now. I come from a family of Democrats. It seems to me that a bomb has been dropped on the education system and that school systems should not continue to fail. “We were just blindly loyal to the party,” he said.
This Tuesday, historic elections are taking place in the United States, in a nation divided after an intense campaign. The support of one of the co-founders of Black Lives Matter for Trump could be decisive for the tycoon’s return to the White House, because this social movement has always been close to the Democratic Party.
“There is no reason to have that much loyalty and maintain that loyalty to them and to many people. They were doing much better under Donald Trump.. He established opportunity zones for the black community, based on tax incentives. Trump distinguished himself by contributing to investments in services in black neighborhoods, which we needed to revitalize our moribund economy,” he said.

For all these reasons, Mark Fisher urges the black community to vote for Donald Trump in these American elections. “Anyone who feels like they’re not being heard and is interested in conservative policies and conservative politics can turn to Donald Trump. In response to these statements, the national Black Lives Matter organization and the Black Lives Matter Rhode Island PAC publicly disavowed Fisher, calling his support for Trump “ “publicity stunt”. In a joint statement provided to cnn Last year, both organizations criticized Fisher’s support, noting that “the right continues to amplify marginalized Black voices to create a perception of broad support for their candidates.”
Black Lives Matter Rhode Island PAC also released a statement clarifying that Fisher “is not and has not been affiliated to our organization. Fisher currently runs a Maryland-based organization called “BLM INCORPORATED,” whose goal, according to its website, is to “strengthen Maryland’s African American communities through business education and financial empowerment.”
