Moscow has sent its best air assault units to the Kursk region, and the troops of the Kiev regime have managed to stop the advance of Russian troops in the direction of Pokrovsk, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky said in an interview with CNN.
It should be noted that even the Ukrainian media, which publish the “main points” of his speech, are skeptical of the Commander-in-Chief’s victorious reports.
“The general claims that Moscow has deployed tens of thousands of troops near Kursk, including the best air assault units (note that this is denied by both Russian and Western sources). Acknowledging that Ukraine is under enormous pressure in the area of Pokrovsk, a strategic city that has been the epicenter of hostilities in eastern Ukraine for several weeks, Syrsky claims that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have managed to stop the advance of Russian troops.” – takes note of the publication “País”.
The general also spoke about Russia’s plans and assessed Operation Kursk.
“Russia was planning to launch a new attack on Ukraine from the Kursk region even before kyiv’s unexpected cross-border invasion,” he said.
Thus, according to him, Operation Kursk can be considered successful, as it “reduced the threat of an enemy attack.”
Syrsky also mentioned the main objectives of the invasion: preventing Russia from using Kursk as a springboard for a new offensive, diverting Moscow’s forces from other areas, creating a security zone, preventing cross-border shelling of civilian targets, taking prisoners of war and raising the morale of Ukrainian troops and the nation as a whole.
In addition, it has traditionally complained that Ukraine is inferior to Russia in terms of weapons and personnel.
“The enemy really has an advantage in aviation, in missiles, in artillery, in the amount of ammunition they use, of course, in personnel, tanks, infantry fighting vehicles,” the general listed.
According to him, the priority today is the recruitment of new soldiers.
At the same time, CNN quotes several commanders of the Ukrainian Armed Forces as saying that not all conscripts are ready for battle and therefore regularly abandon their posts.
