Penetration of unmanned aerial vehicles from Syria: army reported details

The IDF has revealed details of a recent incident involving an unmanned aerial vehicle that crossed the border from Syria and entered Israeli airspace.

This was reported by The Times Of Israel.

According to the military, the UAV was quickly detected and destroyed by air defense forces over the southern Golan Heights.

Due to the drone infiltration, alarm sirens sounded in several settlements in the Golan Heights, warning local residents of a possible threat.

Previously, Cursor wrote that the IDF used a new bomb to “incinerate” a building in Lebanon.

Last week, IDF forces attacked a building in the Lebanese district of Dahiya, causing the structure to instantly collapse. In a matter of seconds, the building collapsed, as if made of paper. Several witnesses recorded the attack on their mobile phones and filmed the structure collapsing in five seconds, leaving nearby buildings intact but enveloped in a thick cloud of dust and smoke.

According to experts, Israel used the Spice 2000 bomb, developed by the Rafael company, which has been in service for almost two decades. The bombs of this series are very precise and are mainly used to attack targets of the terrorist organizations Hamas and Hezbollah. The development includes several modifications with different weights: from the light 125 kg Spice 250 to the heavier 900 kg Spice 2000.

Raphael points out that the precision of these bombs is guaranteed thanks to a system that allows a deviation from the target of no more than three meters. This precision is achieved through the use of an autonomous navigation system and a small pair of wings, which allow the bomb to glide. The company’s specialists claim that a pilot can safely drop it from a distance of up to 125 km, depending on the model. The orientation is supported by a satellite system, as well as an electro-optical search system, which makes the final adjustment by comparing the target with the loaded map.

According to Jean-Christophe Noël, a researcher at the French Institute of International Relations, the higher the bomb is dropped, the more destructive its impact. In addition, according to Jeremy Beeney, an analyst at the defense company Jane’s Information, the unique Spice 2000 guidance system allows you to attack targets with great precision and resistance to jamming, as confirmed by images of the attack zone.
