Elon Musk has agreed to be responsible for auditing the US government if Donald Trump wins the presidential election. The candidate for the post of head of state announced this in a speech at the Economic Club of New York, Reuters reports.
“At the suggestion of Elon Musk, who has given me his full and complete approval… I will create a government efficiency commission charged with auditing the entire federal government and recommending sweeping reforms… Elon has agreed to chair it.” – Trump said.
The Washington Post previously reported that Trump may create a special commission to audit government programs, which could include Musk as its leader. The entrepreneur responded by saying that he “can’t wait” for his appointment.
In late August, Trump said he would like to see Musk on his team, although he admitted that he would hardly have time for public service due to the need to manage several large companies: Tesla, SpaceX and Neuralink, as well as the social network X. The Republican then suggested that the businessman could become an advisor on the use of artificial intelligence.
