Just in order to note that on July 4 the United States was noted to marry the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on the same day in 1776 by the second continental congress.

John Adams is the founder and second president of the United States. He refused to celebrate July 4, because he believed that on July 2 it was the actual date of independence of the American.

On July 2, 1776, the Continental Congress voted to declare independence from the UK, and approved Lee’s resolution. The declaration was officially adopted on July 4, 1776, but was not signed. Some historians agreed that the signing actually happened on August 2, 1776.
Adams felt that on July 2 it was the most important date, which marked the official declaration of independence. He wants this date to be marked by grandeur, parade and party.
