An appeal against the decision of Turkish citizen Hikmet Yiğitdöl, owner of MTK “Hom Paş Prestij”, who was accused of fraud in Baku, has been considered.
Pravda.az reports that the decision was announced at the hearing presided over by Baku Court of Appeal Judge Mirzali Abbasov.
According to the decision, the lower court’s decision was completely overturned and the deadline for filing an appeal was reinstated.
It should be noted that MTK “Hom Paş Prestige” headed by H. Yiğitdöl purchased a plot of land on Khojali Avenue, Block 1181 and started construction of a multi-storey building in 2008 by order of the executive authority of Baku city.
According to the indictment, Turkish businessman H. Yigitdol, owner of MTK, abused the trust of 72 Baku citizens and resold an apartment to private individuals and seized a large amount of their funds through fraud.
The victim, Elchin Heydarov, who testified in the trial, said that although he bought an apartment in 2007, he later failed to obtain documents for his apartment and discovered that the apartments had other owners.
Later, he was given a non-residential house and two apartments worth 100,000 manats. He said that he had no complaints or demands and that they had been reconciled.
Another victim, Vali Akbarli, said his non-residential property had been returned to him and he had no complaints.
Please be advised that Hikmet Yiğitdol is charged with Article 178.3.2 of the Criminal Code (fraud, when committed in large amounts).
He was placed under house arrest.
He was sentenced to several years in prison by the Baku Court for Serious Crimes.
