Kyrgyzstan has suspended livestock exports – EADaily, September 6, 2024 – Economic News, Asian News

Kyrgyzstan has suspended the export of cattle, livestock and horses, the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of the Republic announced.

According to the department, the official reason is to inventory the identification of farm animals by the veterinary service.

“The measure aims to ensure accurate accounting of the number of farm animals in the country, as well as to increase control over compliance with veterinary and sanitary standards.” – said the Ministry of Agriculture.

The department added that the inventory will last 15-20 days. After this, the export permit processing will resume. All applications submitted during this period will be processed immediately after the completion of the inventory activities.

Meanwhile, meat prices have risen in Kyrgyzstan. The price of a kilogram of beef rose from 530 to 600 soms (equivalent to a ruble), and the cost of tenderloin rose to 700 soms. Sellers attribute this to exports to Uzbekistan.
