The hearing on the appeal against the sentence of monk Naghdaliyev, accused of fraud at the Baku Court of Appeal, has ended.
According to information obtained by Pravda.az, the decision was announced in the trial presided over by Judge Habil Mammadov.
According to the decision, the six-year prison sentence handed down by the Baku Serious Crimes Court was modified and reduced by two months.
According to the indictment, Rahib Nagdaliyev told 12 people that he was engaged in the fruit and vegetable business in the “Sadarak” shopping center. He falsely promised those people that he would make a profit by investing money in his business. In this way, Rahib Nagdaliyev fraudulently confiscated a total of 546,100 manats from victims in the capital area in 2020-2022. Subsequently, he did not keep his promise and was arrested and prosecuted based on the victims’ complaint.
