Harris responds to Trump on the “disappearance of Israel”

US Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign has responded to criticism from Donald Trump following his claims that Israel would be destroyed if he lost the election and his comments that Jewish supporters of the Democratic Party should “get their heads examined”.

Harris-Waltz campaign spokeswoman Morgan Finkelstein said:

“Donald Trump openly disparages American Jews, proudly dines with a neo-Nazi, and reportedly thinks Adolf Hitler ‘did some good things.’ He said the only people he wants to see counting his money are “short men in kippahs,” and praised neo-Nazis who chanted “Jews will not replace us” as “very fine people.”

Finkelstein added that Trump is willing to turn his back on Israel if it benefits his interests, and hinted that this has happened in the past. Unlike Trump, Kamala Harris has always been a staunch defender of Israel as a democratic homeland for the Jewish people, and has been an unwavering advocate for Israel’s security and against anti-Semitism in the United States and abroad, he said.

Earlier, Cursor reported that Tim Walz, the Democratic vice presidential candidate, also spoke about Israel’s war against the Hamas terrorist group. In an interview, he called on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to begin moving toward a “two-state” solution. Walz noted that Israel has the right to self-defense, but stressed that the humanitarian crisis in Gaza cannot continue.
