Russia highly appreciates that the countries of the Global South and East have treated the reunification of Crimea with Russia with understanding and signals its readiness for close interaction, despite pressure from the West. This was stated in the welcome speech of the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, read at the Yalta International Forum (YIF).
“Their meeting was attended by representatives of government authorities, national and foreign political scientists, scientific, business and business circles and compatriots. I would especially highlight the participation of the International Association of Friends of Crimea in its work. We greatly appreciate that the states of the global South and East treated with understanding the reunification of Crimea with Russia, which was carried out in full accordance with international law. And today, despite pressure from the collective West, they continue to interact closely with us in various formats.” – the minister stressed.
He also noted that Russia is today “at the forefront of international efforts to form a more sustainable and multipolar world order”, which should be based on the principles of the UN Charter in their entirety and interconnectedness.
“I am pleased to note that this vision of the future global architecture is shared by many like-minded people from the world’s majority countries.” — summarized the head of the diplomatic department, quoted by TASS.
The Yalta International Forum, an event of the Yalta International Economic Forum (YIEF) to discuss political issues, will take place on November 6-7 in Moscow.
