Doctor who shot bullets from Tel Gazan … as the hero of the film “Mission”
“This hand was almost a miracle of Gaza, but even miracles do not survive here,” commented, commented on the commented surgeon Mohamed Taher after the child Maria lost her hand, despite his inexorable attempts to avoid amputation.
The Iraqi trouser -doctor entered the Palestinian sector, struck by 3 humanitarian missions during the war. One of them was documented in the film called “Mission”, and “The International Film Festival of Amman” took place in its first international show in the Rinbo Theater in the capital of Jordan, which was filled with participants led by Dr. Tahur and the producer of the film, British director Mike Lerner.
Aside from the show, Taher spoke with Aucar al -Ausat many times when he could save the life of the victims of the Israeli gaze bombardment, as well as at a time when his heart was destroyed in front of the children who breathed their latter. He says: “One of the most difficult moments, and she is countless, was in the hospital of the martyrs of al -Aaks in Deir -Ealla. On that day, many injuries, including children, profit. One of them was the earth and left a random head. She was dying alone … And I, in the middle of chaos, scream and blood, went to him, and he did not raise him, and he did not raise him that he did not raise that he had not lifted that he had not lifted him, that he had not lifted him, that he had not lifted him, that he did not raise him, that he did not.
His tears stop him when he restored such scenes, and in the film Dr. Taher shouted. He was influenced by his mother, who thanked him, because he performed a successful operation about the body of her frank son, and the families also participated in the loss of his beloved, and he cried so that every time he left Gaza, leaving behind the victims that hoped the hopes for healing on him.
Today, a few months after the end of his last mission, the doctor is forbidden to enter the sector. He became famous and became stories that document that this is bothering Israel. Nevertheless, the new film is the greatest evidence of Gazan residents and open to them.
For more than an hour and a half, the participants continued the bloody diaries of the Gazanians thanks to the movement of Dr. Taher (40 years), a neurosurgeon of Iraqi origin, born and resident in London. The doctor sat in the hall among the audience, examining their reactions between sexual intercourse, tears and applause. Some of them could not follow the film from an excessive look at the viewer, and some of them shed his vision when the camera approaches open wounds.
“All content is real. There are no texts, preparation and a second sentence. ” Dr. Taher assures Ashard al -Vat. What is the need for scenarios and effects, especially when reality is the embodiment of surrealism?!
The documentary “Mission” is full of blood and pain, whose cameras are close to the depths of the body, pursuing the doctor’s tweezers when they pull bullets and shrapnel from bones and ribs. Only those who have strong hearts can follow the viewing, since the work is cruel in their image, but it is only for documenting the truth about what is happening in gas without beauty, and from the founding of its hospitals and operations. Work in this regard is more close to the news from it to a documentary.
Taher confirms that the shooting took place with the personal efforts of the medical team, while not to disclose the names of photographers for security reasons, but the frames seem professional. The transmission is smooth, and the image is clear and fixed, despite the cruelty of content. “Initially, there was no plan to turn my medical mission into a film, but some tips around me succeeded in convincing me. Later, when we began to shoot in gas, we realized that what we introduce to the world is a humanitarian message through which we open the doors of hospitals and gas operations in front of the Arabic and international public opinion.
Filming is not limited only by hospitals, but the lens also continues the pace with the doctor and his colleagues -volunteers in the Scientific Dawn association, which is an incorrect organizer who devotes his efforts to the provision of medical services to people deprived of them, wherever they are in the world.
The camera is accompanied by the resolution of Dr. Taher during his movement between the northern and southern part of the gas, as it toured over large gas hospitals. These external scenes are documented, in turn, the remaining huge devastation, which remained only endless areas of debris. Traveling from north to south is fraught with dangers of bombing and gangs that steal help, and forms of anxiety.
But there is always a light window that the film is interested in opening, for example, if the doctor goes outside in a short space after a long night of operations. There, in the midst of destroyed buildings, they shake their hands with children and give them sweets. “This is my way, and my rest, which I see in the operating rooms,” then his medical team and the nurse accompanies a break for gas hours. They walk on the sand and talk with hunters and swimmers caught in boats of Israeli boats. “This is the only scene that rockets … the sea and sand are not fascinated.”
In one of the most influential scenes of the film, the cruelty of the war is mixed with poets of being; After a long night of first aid and operations, the doctor rises to the surface of the hospital using mobile light. He speaks in the sky, where the stars shine, and the galaxies clearly appear in the full night, but soon the ruptures of Israeli misfortunes overwhelm the magic of the moment.
I’m not sure whether the film “Mission” will take place to other international cinema festivals, but it will be shown in some halls of Great Britain and Europe. As for the launch of Aman from the heart and within the framework of the activity of its cinema festival, this is an important station on the way to people. “This means a lot to be the first offer in Jordan, especially since it is a close state in Palestine, and that the share of the Palestinians is high in it,” says Dr. Taher.
Perhaps the doctor will not be able to return to gas at the fourth mission, but he is preparing to launch the platform through which help is collected, and all forms of support are provided to people of the strip. According to Taher, they deserve the most beautiful: “What most surprised me in the living of Gaza, which, despite the tragedy, they never left their faith.”
