After Telegram co-founder Pavel Durov was detained in France, unexpected changes have occurred in the platform’s security policy. Now, moderation of private conversations in the messenger will begin.
Oku.AzThis was reported by the TechCrunch portal.
The publication reports that information on how to protect private chats from moderation requests has been removed from the FAQ page.
Instead, management announced the innovation, saying that a “Report” button had been created in all Telegram apps to inform moderators about illegal content. The developers also added a link on the FAQ page to remove the content and provided an email address to send requests to moderators.
However, Telegram itself has not publicly announced any changes to its moderation policy.
It should be noted that the innovations were not received unambiguously among Telegram users. Users said that many of them chose this messenger because of its reputation as a privacy advocate.
It is not yet clear how moderation will be implemented and what criteria will be used to determine “illegal content.”
