“If Donald Trump attends the 29th United Nations Climate Summit (COP-29), which will be held in Baku before the opening ceremony, Russia is ready to discuss the climate agenda with him.”
Oku.Az According to Ruslan Edelgeriyev, advisor to the President of the Russian Federation and special representative of Vladimir Putin on climate issues, he spoke these words at the next meeting of the International Debate Club “Valday”.
“Our first international event will be in Baku, anyone who applies can participate there. Whether it is an ordinary citizen or a head of state. We have advised Azerbaijan to invite Trump to COP29. Let Mr. Trump come to Baku and We will do it. Meet with him. We will talk. There are many questions about the climate and ecological project,” said Ruslan Edelgeriyev.
Ruslan Edelgeriyev said that the first question that will be asked of Donald Trump will be related to the Paris Agreement.
“The first question you will be asked will be whether you will withdraw from the Paris Agreement and how we will continue our mutual relations,” Ruslan Edelgeriyev said.
It should be noted that the Paris Agreement (according to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the agreement that regulates measures to reduce carbon dioxide in the atmosphere from 2020 – ed.) is an international agreement on the climate change. In June 2017, Mr. Trump announced his country’s decision to abandon this agreement. According to Trump, the deal redistributes American wealth in favor of other countries and could result in the loss of 2.7 million American jobs by 2025.
