The Kremlin understands why Kyrgyzstan removed the Taliban* from the list of banned organizations

The Kremlin understands the decision of the Kyrgyz authorities to exclude the Taliban movement* from the list of banned organizations. This was announced today, September 6, by the press secretary of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov.

“This is necessary, without it it is impossible to establish contacts, and it is also impossible to abstract from these contacts, that is why we treat this situation with understanding,” – Peskov said.

As reported EADaily the day before the leadership of the “Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan” (IEA, the proper name that the Taliban give to the country)*) welcomed Kyrgyzstan’s decision to expel the Taliban* from the list of terrorist organizations. Previously the Taliban*whose leaders form the IEA government, removed Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan from lists of terrorist organisations to strengthen ties with Afghanistan. Russia has also said it is preparing to do the same, but has not yet done so.
