Biden mistakenly said he was going to North Korea to negotiate microchips

US President Joe Biden has once again become the hero of a strange situation. During a speech in Wisconsin, he mistakenly said he was visiting North Korea to negotiate the construction of microchip manufacturing plants on US soil.

Oku.Az reports on this with reference to aif.ru.

“Countries that I have visited to get factories to produce computer chips, from North Korea, in any case, from South Korea, from all over the world…” said the American leader.

He notes that Biden has never visited North Korea, which is in conflict with the United States. The president appears to be planning a visit to South Korea in May 2022, where he will meet with President Yun Seok-yol and discuss high-tech cooperation, among other things.

Biden also stressed that not long ago the United States controlled 40% of the global microchip market, but now this share has almost disappeared. To remedy the situation, the United States passed the Chips and Science Act, which aims to stimulate the return of high-tech companies to the country. Thanks to this, companies from all over the world have returned to the country.
