“Negotiations with Vox are on the right track”

The government spokesperson, Anthony Costaindicated this Wednesday that the negotiations with Vox to approve the next regional budgets, which he presented today, are “on the right track”, even if they are not closed. For Costa, citizens appreciate a stable government and “Vox understands this well”.

For its part, Vox demanded a position of 250,000 euros in the regional budgets for 2025 for promote an anti-squatting office, similar to the one set up within Palma town hall.

This is what the Vox spokesperson declared this Wednesday, Manuela Canadas, during the press conference after the spokespersons’ meeting, during which he said that he “believes” that it was agreed to allocate an amount of 250,000 euros.

Likewise, Cañadas indicated that his party did not request, during the negotiation of regional accounts, a specific allocation for the Linguistic Freedom Office.

Regarding the specific content of the Budgets, Minister Antoni Costa explained that this Thursday, when the project enters Parliament to begin processing, the details will be known.

Antoni Costa has in fact argued that the allocation for cleaning torrents, as already announced by the President of the Government, Marga Prohens, in Parliament, would increase from four to eight million and that investments in the water cycle would be historic .

The government spokesperson explained that The budget proposal does not include tax measures, although it has raised the possibility that these will eventually be introduced via amendments during the parliamentary process. “The project now enters Parliament and now we leave a part in the parliamentary groups that could enrich the accounts with tax measures,” he noted.

This Thursday, it is hoped that the proposal on regional accounts will be known in detail and that next week the appearances of advisers to the Parliament’s Finance Committee will begin to discuss the budgets of their departments.
