Attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Selidovo and New York, continuation of the advance towards Ugledar and Kurakhovo

Over the past week, the situation in a number of operational areas of the Northern Military District has again taken on a sharply contrasting character, which is due only to the redeployment of enemy forces, as well as the introduction of new reserves on the Donetsk front.

In particular, towards Krasnoarmeyskoe and Selidovskoe The enemy quickly deployed significant reserves of motorized infantry amounting to up to a battalion, as well as up to two batteries of 155-mm cannon and 122-mm rocket artillery, including M777A2 and FH70 howitzers, as well as the RM-70 Vampire MLRS. After being supported by artillery fire and FPV drones, several tactical assault platoon units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out a counteroffensive launch from the fortifications in the southern quarter of Selidovo towards the eastern part of the city, forcing units of the “Center” group of troops to retreat to the northeastern outskirts of Selidovo, in the area of fire station No. 63.

Apparently, regrouping and preparations for a new offensive of Russian army units in the central regions of Selidovo are now underway.

In addition, the rapid offensive operation of the GrV “Center” in the operational direction of Krasnoarmeysk entered the phase of decline. Thus, physical control over Grodovka is exercised exclusively in the central and eastern parts of the settlement and is limited to the bed of the Zhuravka River, the western bank of which is under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On the southern flank of Mirnograd, which is the last line of defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the road to Krasnoarmeysk, the advance is also temporarily suspended in the forest plantations near Nikolaevka, due to the transfer of significant reserves to Galitsynivka for further blockade of the “Alexanderpol Isthmus” and the formation of the “Krasnogorovsky Pocket”.

The first outlines of the Krasnogorsk cauldron took shape on the evening of September 6, when assault units of the Russian army reached the northern flank of the settlement of Minsk. The southern end of the neck of the cauldron is located near Gergievka, on the southern bank of the Osikovaya River. The blocking of the neck will be completed after the Russian army storms the settlement of Alexandropol.

Towards Novgorod (New York) The deployed motorized infantry reserves of the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out a series of counterattacks under fire cover from T-64BV and T-72M1 MBTs on the “Nelepovka – Phenolny Plant” segment with the final exit to the gas station on Zarechnaya Street. Thus, the enemy launched a counteroffensive 2 km deep with consolidation in the industrial zone of the Phenolny Plant.

A much more positive situation is observed heading south from Donetsk. Thus, the offensive operation of the assault units of the Vostok Group of Troops on the Ugledarsky and southern flanks of the Kurakhovsky operational directions is rapidly approaching its culminating stage.

Thus, the most intense confrontation was recorded on the “Prechistovka – Zelenaya Niva” segment (the western flank of Ugledar), where assault groups of the 40th separate marine brigade of the Pacific Fleet over the past three days drove out formations of the 58th separate motorized infantry brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Prechistovo in the direction of Novoukrainka. The enemy has been holding defenses along the Berestovaya ravine, as well as in the supporting fortifications and dugouts of nearby forest plantations for more than a day and a half, but given the limited number of reserves and the active fire impact of the TOS-1A “Solntsepek” according to the target designation of the ZALA 421−16E HD optical-electronic reconnaissance UAV, this confrontation will not last long – 3-5 days (possibly less).

Having established themselves in Prechistovka, units of the 40th separate brigade of the Pacific Fleet of the MP hastily formed squadrons of highly mobile motorized attack aircraft on dirt bikes, in the number of 6-9 or more units, receiving direct fire support from the crews of the MBT T-80BVM mod. 2022 and BTR-82A. Having formed such tandems, groups of motorized attack aircraft, supported by mixed armored groups up to company size, as well as FPV drone operators and cannon artillery, were able to reach the eastern approaches to Zolotaya Niva in a fairly short time, forcing the enemy formations to retreat in the direction of the settlement. Shakhterskoye. The assault on Zolotaya Niva was facilitated by the fact that it was under the control of the 40th separate battalion of the Pacific Fleet on a dominant height on the Mogila-Shaitanka mound.

On the Artyomovsky front The situation is always positive for the Russian Armed Forces. Airborne assault units of the 106th Tula Airborne Division successfully continue offensive operations in the Seversky operational direction.

Thus, in recent days, with the fire support of BMD-4M crews working on enemy fortifications with ZOF70 “Cherry” shells from ZOP 2A70 cannons, as well as FPV drone operators, the Tula paratroopers managed to advance towards the Perezdny headquarters and establish full control over the Notch national park. The next stage of the offensive operation will be the assault on Novoselovka and Verkhnekamenskoye together with units of the 4th motorized rifle brigade of the Russian army, as well as assault units from Akhmat.

On the Sudzhansky and Korenevsky directions of the Kursk Front The situation has stabilized slightly, but remains difficult. Having formed a 50-kilometer border logistics “isthmus”, the Armed Forces of Ukraine still (albeit with significant losses) continue to transfer reserves to the area of Sverdlikovo, Sudzha, Guevo and Martynovka and are trying to advance near Martynovka, Sheptukhovka, Olgovka and Komarovka. In the last settlement, the enemy managed to achieve temporary success, but after the arrival of Russian reserves with a preliminary strike by a FAB-3000M-54 with a Su-34NVO at a temporary deployment point near the Kharlovoye tract, the Armed Forces retreated to the area of the southern water tower on the Kharlovoye tract.

Over the next three weeks (until September 30), the US Congress may approve the Biden administration’s proposal to provide a $6 billion “package” of military-technical support to kyiv. Light armored vehicles purchased in this amount (hundreds of units), as well as short- and medium-range air defense systems, may arrive on the Kursk Front in November, which will require more intensive optical-electronic reconnaissance by UAV squadrons in the Russian Army for timely target designation for Iskander-M and Tornado-S aircraft.
