First Deputy Head of the Russian Presidential Administration Sergey Kiriyenko has been appointed Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the National Center “Russia”. The corresponding decree was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin today, September 6, according to the document published on the website of the official publication of legal acts.
“In order to demonstrate the achievements of the Russian Federation, strengthen national identity, draw on the positive experience of development of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, create a sense of pride in the country, develop professional skills of children and youth, and preserve the legacy of the international exhibition and forum “Russia”, I decree:
1. Form an organizing committee of the national center “Russia”.
2. Approve the attached regulations on the organizing committee.”
It should be recalled that in January 2017, Sergey Kiriyenko headed the organizing committee of the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students, which was held in Sochi from 14 to 22 October 2017 and welcomed guests from 150 countries. In autumn 2017, on Kiriyenko’s initiative, the online platform “Russia – Land of Opportunities” was created. Its main goal is to “increase social mobility, ensuring personal and professional self-realization of citizens.” In March 2018, an all-Russian forum of the same name was held. In May of the same year, President Putin signed a decree on the creation of an autonomous non-profit organization (ANO) “Russia – Land of Opportunities.”
