The MTV Video Music Awardsalso known as MTV VMA 2024are awards created by the MTV television channel in 1984. Their objective is to highlight the best music videos of the year. The winners are awarded the musical statuette, the precious Astronaut (a silver figurine in the shape of an astronaut).
This year we celebrate the 40th editionin a gala that will also have a solidarity component. On the occasion of the anniversary of September 11 and the attack on the Twin Towers, the event will pay tribute to the victims of the terrible massacre in collaboration with the National September 11 Day of Service and Remembrance and the organization Tuesday’s Children.
In addition, it has already been revealed who will be the star of the evening: Katy Perry. The artist will receive the prize MTV Video Avant-garde and will deliver a live show that will span her entire musical career, becoming the first artist to host the gala (she already did so in 2017) and receive two of the most important awards at the VMAs, alongside Video of the year in 2011 by fireworks.
The full list of confirmed artists who will walk the red carpet is still unknown, although the list of nominees for the MTV VMA 2024 has already been published. As expected, the undisputed favorite is Taylor Swiftwhich has up to 10 nominations, one less than last year.

Where and when are the 2024 VMAs taking place?
Due to the presidential debate in the United States, the gala of MTV VMA 2024 will be held on the night of September 11-12 in one of the most emblematic cities, the city that never sleeps, new York. The event will take place at UBS Arenainside Elmont Belmont Parkand will welcome the biggest artists of the current music scene, as well as other celebrities.
