Unfortunately, there are many more consumers who still do not understand the risk of Ganula. Based on a poll conducted by KKI, 43.4% of the respondents did not know that there were BPA labels. But, knowing, 96% agreed that the rules were applied as soon as possible, and supported the abolition of ganula from blood circulation.
Another problem, in packaged drinking water manufacturers there are already technologies that produce new gallons that do not contain BPA. Nevertheless, the old Gallon is still to survive on the market.
“If you can make a gallon without BPA, why is this not withdrawn? This is weird. This is just about profit, while consumers are victims, ”said David.
David also confirmed that 40% of the population of Indonesia relies on bottles and gallons of drinking water. That is, more than 100 million people can be exposed to Ganula BPA every day.
“Imagine that this is not a question of a handful of people. This is a matter of generation. If the government does not immediately adjust the life of Gallon, this influence can be long, ”he said.
KKI calls on the government to immediately establish the rules of the company related to the maximum age limit of gallons for repeated gallons, while accelerating the implementation of BPA marking. This step is considered important for one main goal: stop the free circulation of Ganula, which can jeopardize the health of millions of people.
“The law on the protection of consumer rights is drawn up so that people do not become victims. The state must be present in order to limit Ganula, not only for the producers to make a profit from the old Gallon, ”concluded David.
