The Todo Embalaje company, dedicated to the manufacturing and distribution of all types of packaging, today received the Valladolid SME of the Year 2024 Award, an award awarded by Banco Santander and the Chamber of Valladolid, in collaboration with the Chamber of Spain and the newspaper El Norte de Castilla.
Pedro Cordova, representing Javier Cordova, CEO of Todo Embalaje, was responsible for collecting the award, during an event that took place at the headquarters of the Chamber and in the presence of the vice-presidents of the Chamber of Valladolid, Javier Labarga and Felix Cano; the vice-president of the Provincial Delegation of Valladolid, Víctor Alonso Monge and the councilor for Finance, Personnel and Administrative Modernization of the Valladolid City Hall, Francisco de Paula Blanco.
The jury, composed of the Chamber of Valladolid, the Chamber of Spain, Banco Santander, the Provincial Deputation of Valladolid and the North of Castile, specially rewarded Todo Embalaje for the increase in activity and improvement in the company’s results over the last year, the creation of jobs – paying particular attention to its quality -, the internationalization of the company, its commitment to sustainability, the introduction of innovation and the adoption of training measures for its employees
In addition, four second prizes were awarded in the Internationalization categories; Innovation and digitalization; Training and employment; and sustainable SMEs.
The Accèsit Internationalization award was awarded to FoogaPlan, a reference textile brand in design and creativity for having succeeded in exporting its products to more than 14 countries in recent years.
The Second Prize for Innovation and Digitalization was awarded to Toolols, a pioneering company in the development of technological solutions as they drive digital transformation in various sectors, standing out for their quality and adaptability to the specific needs of their clients.
Access to Training and Employment was granted to Industrias Maxi, a company dedicated to the integration and automation of industrial solutions, for having increased, during the last financial year, its investment in internal training by almost 160%, supported by its own Dual training school created in 2012.
Finally, the Valladolid Sustainable SME Accesit is aimed at Biomasas del Duero, logging company, to carry out forest sanitation and mountain cleaning work, promoting the recovery of their waste by transforming it into energy.
The vice-president of the Chamber of Valladolid, Javier Labarga, emphasized that “the Chamber of Valladolid serves SMEs in the region. National SME of the Year Award 2024
All packaging will compete for the 2024 National SME of the Year Award, which will be chosen from the winners from each province. The name will be known in the first months of 2025, during a major event to be held in Madrid. Likewise, the winners of the Accésits will also attend the national final in their respective categories, where the companies which have distinguished themselves through their internationalization actions, their Training and Employment or Innovation and Digitalization policies will be chosen and those which have most implemented. Banco Santander and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce created the SME of the Year Award in 2017 to recognize recognize the performance and work of small and medium-sized businesses as creators of jobs and wealth. In addition, it aims to give visibility to the daily efforts of businessmen who contribute through their efforts to the economic development of the territory. The award is aimed at small and medium-sized businesses with fewer than 250 employees and a turnover of less than 50 million euros.
With this eighth edition, the SME of the Year Award consolidates itself as the reference award for small and medium-sized Spanish businesses. Last year, in the seventh edition of the Prize, a total of 1,740 companies from the 50 registered provinces and 52 Territorial Chambers of Commerce, 13 Territorial Directorates of Banco Santander and the main newspapers of the Spanish press participated. Since 2017, the year of its launch, 10,815 SMEs have already participated in this competition.
