According to government officials, Russian aviation units dropped dozens of Ukrainian March aircraft in certain areas within the country, between two of the city of St. Petersburg, the second largest Russian city.
Alexander Drozenko, the governor of the Leningrad region, surrounding San Petersburg, said in a telegram that two drones were shot down in two different regions in the south of the city.
He explained that there were no reports of injuries or damage, adding that Bolkovo Airport in St. Petersburg temporarily suspended its flights.
The Governor of the Smolinsky region, to the west of Russia, said that the air defense units shot down three drones without injuries or damage, while the governor of the Voronig region, adjacent to Ukraine, said that the “several” drones were destroyed.
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the destruction of 42 drones within three hours, including 37 aircraft in the regions of Brinsk, Russian Bilgorod, Bilgorod, and on the border with Ukraine.
Ukraine strengthened its attacks, using drones against goals at the depths of Russia, since last month there was a huge operation called the “network of spiders”, during which it was aimed at Russian bombers at several air bases.
The Ukrainian Air Force explained that Russian troops strengthened the use of drones for aiming at Ukrainian cities, setting a record on Thursday evening after they launched 539 drones and 11 missiles in Kyiv.
President of Ukraine Folodimir Zelenski said that his forces managed to deploy an objection to the shooting of Russian aircraft in an attack that occurred at night.
