The shortage of doctors in Kyrgyzstan is 5,000 specialists. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Health, Kaarmanbek Baidavletov, in a parliamentary meeting, reports the 24.kg news agency.
He pointed out that according to the rules there must be one doctor for every 1.5 thousand citizens. However, standards are not met not only in remote regions and areas, but also in large cities.
According to Baidavletov, the Ministry of Health is negotiating with authorized representatives in the regions. In some areas, local authorities pay utility bills to help young professionals.
