The new generation BMW M5 sedan was the official car of the MotoGP championship.
Oku.Az motor.ru reports that a new four-door hybrid safety car, built in the style of sports prototypes, will make its debut this Saturday at the San Marino Grand Prix.
The car was unveiled in Milan. The sedan is reminiscent of the “BMW M Hybrid V8” sports prototypes that took part in FIA WEC races.
The powertrain is the same as that of the production car. It is called “M Hybrid” and includes a 4.4-liter V8 biturbo engine, an electric motor and a traction battery with a nominal capacity of 22.1 kilowatt-hours. An eight-speed automatic transmission is used in the transmission, the “M5” has an all-wheel drive “M xDrive” with an active rear differential. At the same time, the “seventh” version of the sedan is slower than its predecessor, if not much, because it works like a real SUV.
