The man who killed his wife was admitted to a mandatory psychiatric hospital

The appeal hearing against the sentence of Yalchin Mammadov, accused of murder, has ended at the Shirvan Court of Appeal.

Pravda.az reports that the decision was announced at the trial presided over by Judge Elshad Aliyev.

According to the decision, the appeal was not upheld.

It should be remembered that on July 30 of this year, around 6:00 p.m., the prosecutor’s office received information about the death of Ilkana Mammadova, born in 1979, from stab wounds.

It was noted that the investigations carried out made it possible to establish well-founded suspicions that Yalchin Mammadov, born in 1976, was injured after deliberately killing his wife Ilkana Mammadova with a knife during a dispute in one of the houses located in the Tekla village of the district.

Regarding the incident, a criminal case has been initiated in the Masalli District Prosecutor’s Office under article 120.1 (intentional homicide) of the Penal Code. The Lankaran Serious Crimes Court, after listening to the parties and hearing the opinions of experts, confirmed that the accused committed the crime in a senseless situation.

By the court’s decision, Yalchin Mammadov was exempt from criminal liability and was subjected to mandatory psychiatric inpatient treatment.
