Iran to start producing Russian fighter jets

Russia has licensed Iran to produce Su-35 and Su-30 fighter jets in this country.

“Aleksey Zheleznov Channel” writes about this.

It is known that the Su-35 (according to NATO coding: Flanker-E+) is a new generation Russian multirole fighter with thrust vector control, belonging to the 4++ class. Development of the aircraft was completed at the Sukhoi Design Bureau in 2008. The Su-35 has become one of the key fighters of the Russian Air Force and was introduced in 2018 as an intermediate variant between the Su-27 and the more modern Su-57.

The Su-30 (NATO code: Flanker-C) is a fourth-generation Soviet and Russian two-seat multirole fighter with improved performance (4+). It is designed to attack air targets both day and night, including conducting missions in various weather conditions.

Its missions include controlling airspace, blocking enemy airfields at considerable depth, as well as attacking land and sea targets.

Previously, Kursor wrote that since the beginning of the large-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Iran has confirmed its commitment to the alliance with Moscow. However, Tehran now faces the challenge of waging a proxy fight against Israel on two fronts, posing additional challenges to its strategic position, experts say.

Despite the Russian Federation’s potential to provide Iran with necessary weapons and technology, the extent of its support remains uncertain due to the potential consequences this could entail.
