The new Minister of Digital Transformation and Civil Service, Óscar López, said at the inauguration ceremony on Friday that after six years as Sánchez’s chief of staff, He “wants to talk” and that “there will be something for everyone, even for the opposition”in particular to “thwart” certain of “the nonsense you have to listen to” at a time “so good for the country.”

Ministry sources added afterwards that the minister was keen to deal with the “Broken record” and “ashen” speeches of the PP of Núñez Feijóo. Furthermore, they attributed the fact that it is “impossible” to have “a serious debate” with the people to the anger of the right at not having power.
Career at the PSOE and replacement of Iván Redondo
Lopez relieved in 2021 Ivan Redondo as chief of staff of Pedro Sánchez. Previously it was Organization Secretary of the PSOE (between 2012 and 2014) and was at the head of the Executive in its first stage, before returning to the front line of Moncloa after a separation between the two. Previously, in 2008, he was elected general secretary of the PSOE of Castilla y León and in 2011 he was a candidate for the Presidency of the Government of Castile and LeónIn 2015 he was appointed senator representing the Cortes of Castilla y León, a position he held until 2018, when he joined Paradores.
Likewise, López, born in Madrid, married and father of two daughters, was elected deputy of the PSOE in 2004 and was part of the Congress until 2011. During these years, he was president of laws such as the RTVE Company, the transition to DTT or the General Audiovisual Law.
Escrivá thanked López for his work over the years and said he was “convinced” that he will now do a “fantastic job” at the helm of the ministry. “The truly exciting challenges and the government’s digital and public service transformation agenda remain in good hands,” said the governor of the Bank of Spain.
