The candidacy of the new Russian ambassador to the United States is going through the registration stages, procedures that will soon be concluded. This was stated at a press conference by the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov.
“Russia’s new ambassador to the United States: his candidacy goes through the usual registration stages. The procedures will be completed soon. We will inform you about this.” — said the minister, quoted by TASS.
He also stressed that Moscow will not create any obstacles for the new US ambassador to Moscow.
“I assume that the US Republican administration will be interested in appointing a new ambassador.” – he pointed out.
