Lokomotiv captain Dmitry Barinov may be arrested for failure to pay traffic police fines

The captain of the Lokomotiv Moscow football club and the midfielder of the Russian national team Dmitry Barinov may be subject to administrative arrest.

According to the Mash Telegram channel, the reason for the arrest is the huge amount of unpaid fines for violating traffic rules.

The channel’s source said that over the course of a year and a half, Barinov violated traffic rules 703 times, for which he was fined 642 thousand rubles. The footballer received the most fines for speeding (388) and not wearing a seat belt (120). In addition, the athlete was driving in the bus lane, off the side of the road, and was carrying a child without a child seat.

The traffic police explained that the terms of payment of Barinov’s fine had expired. For overdue violations, the midfielder faces a double fine, 15-day arrest or correctional labor for up to 50 hours.

It is known that Barinov is currently with the national team in Vietnam. The team cannot return to Moscow due to the typhoon that hit the country.

As reported EADailyDue to the approach of Typhoon Yagi to Vietnam, a friendly football match between the national teams of Russia and Thailand, which was scheduled to take place in Hanoi, has been cancelled.
