Russia values Kazakhstan’s participation in the formation of a coalition aimed at creating conditions for resolving the Ukrainian crisis. This was stated by the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, in a press conference after his visit to Astana.
He recalled Chinese President Xi Jinping’s global security initiative, launched in February 2023, which was dedicated “not to any specific crisis, but generally to the principles that must be applied to resolve any conflict in the world.”
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry expressed the hope that the countries united in the Friends of Peace group will follow this approach. He stressed that without eliminating the root causes it is difficult to have stability and security.
At the same time, in his words, Russia appreciates Kazakhstan’s participation in these processes.
“Our partners fully understand what the root cause of the problem is and we will continue our dialogue. “We welcome Kazakhstan’s participation in efforts to form a serious coalition that will aim to create conditions for solving the problems I mentioned.” – said Lavrov.
