The Consell of Mallorca, which leads the PP-Vox coalition, has approved the construction of a 1.3 kilometer municipal road that will connect the Son Llàtzer hospital to the city of PalmaIt will be located between the health center and the existing pedestrian and cycle path on Chemin Salard.
The project, with a budget of 2.7 million euros, will provide Son Llàtzer with a sustainable mobility route that will connect the capital of the Balearic Islands. In addition, it will remove high intensity black spot due to accidents in the section where the access to the health center is located from the Sineu road.
Therefore, a roundabout at the entrance to the hospitalThe lanes will be reorganized and access to the Can Palou road will be widened. This action aims to eliminate one of the most conflicting points in Mallorca in terms of accidents, where up to four or five accidents have occurred each year in recent years.
As if that were not enough, the new municipal road will also have a 32-metre wooden footbridge, in order to save the passage of the Gros torrentThe new road will connect Son Ferriol with the existing one, which comes from the Marratxí region.
Once the initial project is approved, it will then go through the final approval and tender for the works. It is expected that the construction of the municipal road to the Son Llàtzer Hospital and the elimination of the black spot can begin in first quarter 2025.

Characteristics of the works
The main action planned in the project is a municipal road that connects the existing one on the Salard road, until reaching the Son Llàtzer road with connection to the Ma-3011 road itself, with a total length of 1,331 meters.
Thus, the starting point of the new road is located at the roundabout at the intersection between the Salard road and the Ma-3011 (Sineu road), and from there a road is projected that passes entirely on the south side and thus avoids the level crossings to connect to the existing roads.
At kilometer 0.676 of the new civic road, a 32-meter-long wooden footbridge is planned to cross the path over the Gros stream.
The footbridge consists of a single fan without props in the stream bed. It was also ensured that the free height of water passage under the new footbridge would always be equal to or greater than the current height of the structure under the road.
At the intersection of the Can Palou road, the possibility of turning left is eliminated to access directly from the Ma-3011 (Sineu road) towards Son Ferriol.
To make this trip, you will have to continue on the Ma-3011 until the new planned roundabout, located approximately 300 meters at the entrance to Son Llàtzer, to turn around.
In addition, the exit to the left of the Can Palou road towards the Ma-3011 is also improved, that is, towards Son Ferriol.
To achieve this movement, there will be no more interference with those who intended to turn left from Palma and, in addition, the lane that joins the Ma-3011 from the Can Palou road will be extended to the new roundabout, thus avoiding braiding and possible interference with the traffic that circulates towards Son Ferriol.
