Due to the coronavirus pandemic, a special quarantine regime continues in Azerbaijan. In addition, our country will host next week the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29). Taking into account the activity of the viruses and the arrival of a large number of visitors to our country in the autumn months, the question arises as to whether cases of coronavirus infection may increase again.
What should you pay attention to so that the number of infections does not increase?
Speaking on this topic with Bizim.media, Dr. Rasif Bagirov stated that there are currently no cases of people infected with the coronavirus:
“Certain measures are being taken in relation to COP29. If there is a coronavirus in Azerbaijan, the number of infections can increase regardless of whether the weather is hot or cold. This virus does not care about cold or heat. It’s just that Viruses are more likely to spread in cold climates or in better conditions for their activity. Currently, we do not encounter the disease called coronavirus. There are now tests that detect the presence of COVID-19 and patients with problems in the skin. upper respiratory tract can undergo these tests.”
The therapist said that health centers can increase control in cold weather:
“There is a certain concentration of the virus, if it exceeds the norm, then very serious measures can be taken, including closure. But I do not assume that there will be such a process. A virus is a living organism, if this living organism has so far caused great concern among doctors and the public. If it does not cause concern, it means that we will not encounter the coronavirus. In other words, common colds can also occur in cold climates.
