Blinken’s visit to Qatar over the hostage issue

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken held talks with senior Qatari officials about achieving a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the release of hostages.

As noted, he arrived in Doha on the morning of October 24 on his eleventh trip to the Middle East since the conflict began. Blinken met with Qatari Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

“He discussed renewed efforts to free the hostages and achieve a ceasefire in Gaza,” the statement said.

He also met with Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani. Later they plan to hold a joint press conference.

As previously reported, the head of the Shin Bet, Ronen Bar, presented to the Israeli Cabinet a new proposal received from Egyptian mediators. Under this plan, some of the hostages held by Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip will be released in exchange for a two-week ceasefire.

This proposal was personally conveyed to Baru by the head of Egyptian intelligence, Hassan Rashad, during their meeting in Cairo.

Previously, Kursor wrote that Israeli sources told CNN that the body of Yahya Sinwar, the leader of the Hamas terrorist group, could play a key role in negotiations for the hostages’ release. This information indicates that his remains can be used as bargaining chips in future deliberations.

Furthermore, Cursor has already reported that the Headquarters of the Families of Kidnapped Persons sent a complaint to the police cyber unit LAHAV-433, in which it expressed its concern about the spread of erroneous information about the fate of the Jews kidnapped by the force by Hamas militants and taken to the Gaza Strip.
