In response to the severe flooding caused by DANA, the University of Valence (UV) and the University Polytechnic of Valencia (UPV), in a synchronized manner, announced the temporary implementation of the education in fashion online on its main campuses, as a measure to guarantee the safety and academic continuity of its entire community, minimizing the mobility of private vehicles in the metropolitan area of the city.
Given the significant impact of flooding on mobility, the Generalitat Valenciana asked the reduction of travel to facilitate recovery and prioritize the well-being of citizens. For this reason, both universities have adopted this remote modality until next year. 5 of December (including) on the relevant campuses of the two universities.
Additional measures for academic continuity
The two universities assured that they would be authorized digital resourcesincluding lesson recording, to facilitate access to content for students facing connectivity or mobility difficulties.
As for the evaluationsuniversities have established that in-person testing can resume from 9 of Decemberallowing adjustments to the schedule to meet the needs of affected students.
Likewise, both institutions offer psychological support members of their community are free to deal with the emotional impact of this crisis.
Gandia and Alcoi campuses
The resumption of teaching activity will be implemented on the three campuses of the UPV, although, given the situation in the campus of Gandia and Alcoi differs with regard to Vera, the recovery will be carried out in a particular way in each case.
In Gandia, online teaching will be adopted and the situation will be reviewed weekly. On the Alcoi campus, teaching can be delivered in the classroom, always with online streaming to respond to the situation of the students concerned, or entirely online if teaching staff cannot travel.
