In March, the North Korean leader drove to the Senate in an armoured limousine “Aurus”, which he received as a gift from Russia. Then, during Vladimir Putin’s visit to Pyongyang, he was presented with the “Senate Aurus”. For a while, Kim Jong-un regularly used Aurus, but now he is returning to Mercedes-Benz products.
Despite the sanctions, the North Korean leader’s vehicle fleet includes very rare and expensive models: the 2019 Mercedes Maybach S 650, the Mercedes Maybach S 650 Pullman, the restyled Mercedes Maybach GLS, the armored Mercedes Maybach 57, and the seventh generation Rolls-Royce Phantom. The new SUV belongs to the 2024 model year and, due to its large headlights, was originally intended for the North American market.
