The virus was reportedly detected in a Missouri resident who was hospitalized. This is the 14th case of bird flu reported in the United States since March.
However, officials at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention stress that the risk to the public remains low.
It was also learned that the infected man was admitted to the hospital on August 22 with a positive result for influenza type A. The man was prescribed antiviral drugs. He is now healthy and at home. The name and residence of the patient are not revealed. It is noted that his relatives are not infected.
