The Moscow City Court convicted an IT specialist who attempted to transfer information related to state secrets to the CIA. He was sentenced to 13 years and 6 months in a maximum security colony, the Russian FSB Public Relations Center reported.
“The Moscow City Court found Firuz Temirboevich Dadoboev, born in 1977, an information technology specialist at one of the capital’s commercial companies and a dual citizen, guilty of high treason against the United States. It was established that Dadoboev, having information obtained illegally and constituting a state secret, <> intended to transfer it to a representative of American intelligence. For these purposes, I established contact with the CIA.” – says the message.
In October 2022, while attempting to transfer collected secret materials, Dadoboev was detained by FSB agents.
“Dadoboev admitted his guilt and regretted his actions.” – noted in the CSC.
The court sentenced Dadoboev to 13 years and 6 months in prison in a maximum security colony and a fine of 300 thousand rubles. The ruling did not come into legal force.
Criminal case under art. 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (high treason) was investigated by the investigative unit of the FSB Directorate for Moscow and the Moscow Region.
