Today, November 8, Victory Day is celebrated in Azerbaijan.
Oku.Az remember that the president Ilham Aliyev On December 2, 2020, he signed the Decree “On the Establishment of Victory Day in the Republic of Azerbaijan.”
According to the decree, it was decided to solemnly celebrate November 10 as Victory Day in Azerbaijan to perpetuate the unprecedented victory in the Patriotic War, which began on September 27, 2020 and lasted 44 days.
But one day later, on December 3, the President changed the December 2 order.
Taking into account that November 10 is the commemoration day of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in Turkey, the president of Azerbaijan decided to change the date of Victory Day.
The amendment stated that on the occasion of Azerbaijan’s victory in the Karabakh war, November 8 should be celebrated every year as Victory Day.
