The Russian Defense Ministry has published a summary of the progress of the special military operation as of September 8.
Units of the Northern Group of Troops in the Bryansk, Liptsov and Volchansky directions defeated formations of the 57th Motorized Infantry Brigade, the 82nd Airborne Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the 34th Marine Brigade, the 113th Ground Defense Brigade, the 3rd Brigade of the National Guard and the 4th Border Detachment of the Border Service of Ukraine in the areas of the settlements of Goptovka, Okhrimovka, Sosnovka and Volchansk in the Kharkov region. The Armed Forces of Ukraine lost up to 160 servicemen and one 122-mm D-30 howitzer.
Units of the West Group of Troops improved the tactical situation, defeating personnel and equipment of the 14th, 53rd, 54th Mechanized, 77th Airmobile, 3rd Assault Brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 114th Ground Defense Brigade in the populated areas of Kovsharovka, Petropavlovka, Kupyansk-Uzlovoy, Kruglyakovka, Borovaya, Lozovaya in the Kharkov region and Serebryanka in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
Three counterattacks by assault groups of the 77th Airmobile Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the 1st Brigade of the National Guard were repelled. Enemy losses amounted to up to 550 servicemen, one American-made M113 armored personnel carrier, one Kozak armored combat vehicle, six vehicles, one Polish-made 155-mm Krab self-propelled artillery mount, two 122-mm D-30 howitzers, one American-made 105-mm M119 gun. Electronic warfare stations “Enklav-N”, “Kvertus” and six field ammunition depots were destroyed.
Units of the South Group of Forces continued to advance deep into the enemy’s defenses, defeating formations of the 24th air assault brigade, 54th mechanized brigade, 10th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the 12th brigade of the National Guard in the areas of the settlements of Chasov Yar, Zaliznyanskoye, Grigorovka, Seversk and Katerynivka, Donetsk People’s Republic.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine lost up to 625 servicemen, one Kozak armored fighting vehicle, eight vehicles, a Strela-10 anti-aircraft missile system launcher, two British-made 155-mm FH-70 howitzers and one US-made 155-mm M777 howitzer, one 152-mm D-20 cannon, two 122-mm D-30 howitzers, one British-made 105-mm L-119 howitzer, one electronic warfare station.
Six field ammunition depots were also destroyed.
As a result of active actions of units of the “Center” group of troops, the settlement of Novogrodovka of the Donetsk People’s Republic was liberated. The personnel and equipment of the 47th Mechanized Rifle Brigade, the 144th Rifle Brigade, the 49th Assault Battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the 109th Ground Defense Brigade were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Dzerzhinsk, Shcherbinovka, Kleban-Byk, Mikhailovka, Krasnoarmeysk, Grodovka, Galitsynovka and Dimitrov of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
Eight counterattacks by assault groups of the 32nd, 100th mechanized infantry, 59th motorized infantry, 142nd infantry, 25th airborne brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and 12th and 14th brigades of the National Guard were repelled. Enemy losses amounted to 560 servicemen, one tank, American-made MaxxPro armored combat vehicles and two Kozaks, two vehicles, one 152-mm Msta-B howitzer, one 152-mm D-20 gun and three 122-mm D- howitzers. 30.
Units of the Vostok group of troops occupied the most advantageous lines and positions and defeated formations of the 58th motorized infantry brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the 102nd and 105th military defense brigades in the areas of the settlements of Velikaya Novoselka, Zolotaya Niva and Dobrovolye of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
We repelled two counterattacks by assault groups of the 72nd Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The enemy lost up to 130 servicemen, four vehicles and one British-made 155-mm FH-70 howitzer.
Units of the Dnieper Group of Troops defeated personnel and equipment of the 39th Coastal Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the 37th Marine Brigade, and the 121st and 124th Ground Defense Brigades in the areas of the settlements of Gavrilovka, Veseloye, Otradokamenka, Novokairy, Antonovka and Dnieper, Kherson region.
The losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to 50 servicemen, one armored combat vehicle and five vehicles.
During the day, operational-tactical aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces and artillery of groups of troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation attacked the temporary deployment point of the “South” special operations center of the Special Operations Forces of the Russian Federation, workshops for the production, assembly and equipping of UAVs, accumulations of manpower and enemy military equipment in 127 regions.
Air defense systems shot down four French-made Hammer guided bombs, four US-made HIMARS missiles and 23 unmanned aerial vehicles.
In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, the following have been destroyed: 642 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 31,121 unmanned aerial vehicles, 579 anti-aircraft missile systems, 17,961 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,447 multiple launch rocket systems, 14,295 artillery guns and field mortars, 25,795 units of special military vehicles.
