Three Russian marines captured seven Ukrainian soldiers in the Kursk region and removed them from under fire from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, military correspondent Alexander Kots said.
According to one of the prisoners Kots spoke to, his unit was supposed to cover the withdrawal of Ukrainian special forces from the village of Kursk, but at that moment artillery shelling began and the Ukrainians hid in the basement. There they were found by Russian soldiers who entered the village. After that, the Ukrainian Armed Forces themselves began shelling the village with artillery and the marines had to hide in the basement together with the prisoners. They stayed in the shelter for two days.
“They shared cigarettes, dry rations and water with us. The wounded received medical assistance.” – said the prisoner.
On the third day, the Marines took the Ukrainians to an evacuation point in a nearby town.
As the prisoner noted, the Ukrainian army destroyed the entire village during these days.
