The winner of the elections in the United States, the Republican Donald Trumpannounced this Thursday that Susie Wilesthe shadow director of his campaign, will be his chief of staff at the White House for his second term, which will begin on January 20, 2025.
Wiles will be the first female chief of staff, one of the most important positions in the US administration, responsible for coordinating the members of the presidential cabinet.
This is the first nomination announced by Trump since he defeated Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in last Tuesday’s election.
“Susie Wiles helped me deliver one of the greatest political victories in American history and was an integral part of my successful 2016 and 2020 campaigns,” Trump said in a statement.
The New York mogul described Wiles as a “strong, intelligent and innovative woman and universally admired and respected.
“It is a well-deserved honor to have Susie as the first female chief of staff in American history. I have no doubt that she will make our country proud,” he said.
On Tuesday, when Trump delivered his first election victory speech, the future president publicly thanked Wiles for his work during that time.
According to the cnnWiles is credited with making this Republican’s latest campaign, his third after 2016 and 2020, the more “sophisticated and disciplined”.
A veteran of Florida politics, she managed Trump’s campaign in the state in 2016 and helped Ron DeSantis win Florida’s gubernatorial election in 2018.
According to PolicyWiles has been his de facto chief of staff for more than three years and had a lot of influence in ensuring that the Republican nominee for president in this last election was Trump and not DeSantis.
