Azerbaijan’s flag bearers were chosen at the closing ceremony of the Summer Paralympic Games in Paris, the capital of France.
According to “Report”, our Paralympic champions Said Najafzade and Lamiya Valiyeva will carry the flag of our country at the ceremony.
The closing ceremony of the event, which will begin this evening at 22:30 Baku time, will take place at the Stade de France.
It should be noted that our country was represented in the tournament by 19 athletes in 7 sports.
Our team finished the Paris 2024 Summer Paralympic Games with 11 medals.
4 of them are gold, 2 are silver and 5 are bronze.
Imameddin Khalilov (parataekwondo, 70 kg), Said Najafzade (T12 category), Orkhan Aslanov (T13 category, both long jump) gold, Lamiya Valiyeva gold (100 meter race) and silver (400 meter race), Raman Saley silver (100 meters backstroke) and 2 bronzes (100 meters freestyle and butterfly), Sabir Zeynalov (parataekwondo, 58 kg), Veli Israfilov (100 meters breaststroke), Ilham Zakiyev (parajudo, +90 kg) won the bronze medal.
The competition began on August 28th.
