The Centre del Carme de València opens a cycle on the Movida of the 80s with “Complices” and Pablo Carbonell

The Department of Education, Culture, Universities and Employment, through the Consortium of Museums of the Valencian Community (CMCV), launches a new cultural proposal on Move from the 80s to the Center del Carmen of Contemporary Culture (CCCC) of Valencia.

Under the title “Meetings in Carmen. Voices that resonate, stories that last”, the CMCV offers a sound portrait from the 1980s, a moment of musical and cultural emergence, which includes interviews with its protagonists and solo performances.

Teo Cardalda, member of the duo musical’Accomplices‘, will be in charge of inaugurating the ‘Rencontres à Carmen’ on Thursday, September 12, at 7:00 p.m. He also founder from the legendary group ‘Low blows“He will tell us how he experienced this period and will answer questions and curiosities posed by the public.

On Wednesday, September 25, it will be the turn of the multifaceted singer, comedian and actor, Pablo Carbonell. Participants in this meeting will have the opportunity to meet again the actor of “La Bola de Cristal”, founder of the group “Toreros Muertos” and one of the most representative figures of the time.

The Director General of CMCV, Nicolas Bugedaassured that the 80s “witnessed a cultural phenomenon known as “Movida”, which flourished throughout Spain, with Valencia and the Carmen district being one of its main axes.

In this sense, he indicated that with the cycle “Meetings in Carmen” “we will return to this period which was a crucible of creativity where music, art and fashion intertwine to shape a unique and revolutionary scene.

‘Meetings in Carmen. Voices that resonate, stories that last’ is organized by Quique Lopezcomponent of the Valencian group’Inhuman” and “La Banda del Pop”, as well as a radio collaborator.

According to Quique López, “this is a project that we have been passionate about for a long time and that has now become a reality thanks to the CMCV. The objective of this cycle is to tell the story of the phenomenon of the Movida de los 80s from different points of view through its protagonists and reveal the the ins and outs that have not yet been told in a more intimate environment with the public.

In the format of interviewHosted by Quique López and followed by questions from the audience, “Encuentros en el Carmen” will explore the memories, anecdotes and reflections of singers, producers, businessmen and fashion personalities, key players in the cultural scene of the 80s and 90s.

Each session will end with performance soloist of the guest artist, a unique opportunity to get closer to the era of the 80s and 90s, as well as to enjoy its protagonists live. Entrance to the cycle is free and is scheduled until December.
