A municipal employee was shot dead in Grenoble on Sunday morning, September 8, after trying to prevent the perpetrator of a traffic accident from fleeing. “Following a traffic accident that occurred this morning near Grenoble town hall, at around 7:30 a.m., the person responsible for the accident fired two shots at a municipal employee who allegedly tried to prevent him from fleeing”had initially detailed the accusation to the press, confirming information from the Dauphiné Liberated. “The victim was shot twice in the chest. His life is in danger.”Prosecutor Eric Vaillant then declared, before subsequently sharing a message of Dauphiné Liberated announcing the death of the municipal employee.
According to the regional newspaper, the altercation took place at the scene of the accident between a Peugeot vehicle and an Audi that had hit it. A municipal official, who witnessed the scene, intervened and the driver of the Audi allegedly fired several shots in his direction. “The prosecutor’s office has referred the investigation to the police officers of the SLPJ Grenoble, who are actively searching for the shooter”The Grenoble prosecutor announced, adding that the identity of the shooter is currently unknown.
