Blow to the waterline of organizations dedicated to drug trafficking on the Andalusian coast and at the mouth of the GuadalquivirDuring the month of August, the Civil Guard seized 35 motorboats used by these criminal networks in the area of the Gulf of Cadiz and the bed of the aforementioned river.
The seizures are part of the IV Special Security Plan for Campo de Gibraltar of the Ministry of the Interior that the Civil Guard has deployed for dismantling the logistical core of the drug clansas Benemérita reports in a note.
Thanks to this device, 35 vessels were seized, including five high-speed vessels, and 30 smaller ones dedicated to fuel supply and provisions for the other larger ones. Five vehicles, more than 6,000 kilograms of hashish, 173,918 packets of tobacco and 47,146 litres of fuel were also seized.
Among the actions carried out within the framework of this operation, as reported in the note, the one carried out on August 8 in the municipalities of Cristina Island, Ayamonte and Punta Umbria (Huelva), where 1,530 kilograms of hashish, 9,500 liters of fuel and 12 pleasure boats were seized.
The one that took place on August 25 also stands out, in the region of Los Caños de Sancti Petri (Chiclana-Cádiz), where six boats and 15,450 litres of fuel were intercepted.
The device was coordinated by the General Area Directorate of the Civil Guard of Andalusia and had the participation of Maritime Service of the Commands of Cadiz and Huelvathe Air Service, the Rapid Action Group and different Citizen Security units of the Commands of Huelva, Cadiz and Seville.
