The Popular Party has been demanding for weeks the resignation of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, cornered by cases of corruption which, in the opinion of the opposition leader, make the continuation of the legislative mandate unbearable. And the scandal revealed regarding the allegations of abuse and sexual assault against Íñigo Errejón is all the more reason.
This case, Alberto Núñez Feijóo justified, actually affects the government even if it tries to stay out of it. “The government has two spokespersons in Congress, Patxi López and Íñigo Errejón”he emphasized in an interview with the program ‘It’s Federico’s morning’, in which he insisted that this scandal “would bring down any government”, knowing further that it directly affects the current vice president, responsible for elevating Errejón to the group’s spokesperson.
“Sumar is a cage of crickets that has three different versions: that of Más Madrid, that of Podemos and that of Yolanda Díaz,” criticized Feijóo, who, when asked about a possible case similar to the PP, pointed out that “this Monday it There were some references to a “popular” senator and “automatically” the party spoke with him and resolved the problem. These references specifically concern José Ignacio Landaluce, also mayor of Algeciras and whom MEP Alvise Pérez pointed out. finger for sexual harassment allegations.
Returning to the Errejón scandal, he accused the Vice President of Labor of being aware of the problems of her deputy and of the complaint that appeared on social networks a year ago and of ignoring it. However, he shared one concern, “that it would be easier to report online rather than at the police station.”
Corruption in government
Beyond the Errejón case, Feijóo once again highlighted the cases of corruption that haunt the government and make it impossible for the legislative body to function. “There has never been a president of government so surrounded by corruption,” he declared. “There are 11 ministries investigated, 15 crimes before the courts and 4 open cases, which will make 5. If they affect your party, your brother, your wife, the president of Congress… We are facing a rotten government and “he should submit his irrevocable resignation.
In this sense, he highlighted the commission of inquiry currently being developed in the Senate on the “case of masks” and justified that the President of the Government has not yet been summoned. “If we had called him to testify, we would not have been able to ask him many things that stand out,” he stressed about the trips of Aldama and Begoña Gómez.
