Political clash between PP and PSOE over Edmundo González’s political asylum

The communication of the government that collaborated in the departure of the Venezuelan opponent Edmundo Gonzalez from the Latin American country to receive political asylum in Spain has generated a new Political clash between the Popular Party and the PSOE.

The “popular” has repeatedly asked the government to take a stand and act on the situation in Venezuela, including showing support for González Urrutia, but he has not been satisfied with the decision to help him leave the country.

The Deputy Secretary for Institutional Affairs of the PP, Esteban Gonzalez Ponsstressed that the opponent should have been recognized as elected president before expelling him from Venezuela: “Eliminate Edmundo González Not recognizing him as the legitimate president does a disservice to democracy.but to eliminate a problem of the dictatorship.”

A line that agrees with another publication, in this case that of Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo: “The government hangs medals for having brought the wrong man to Spain. It is not the elected president of Venezuela to whom it should have given a silver bridge, but rather the criminal usurper.

On the other hand, The Government continues to defend the need to verify the minutes in order to render a judgmentas the Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, stressed this morning when announcing the transfer of Edmundo González at the request of the Venezuelan: We reiterate the demand that the minutes be presented, that they can be verified. “Spain will always be there to achieve a solution that must be peaceful and truly Venezuelan among Venezuelans.”
