How the Georgian opposition protest will end – EADaily, November 8, 2024 – Politics news, European news

After the parliamentary elections in Georgia, the West seemed to be divided into two parts. Some members of the European Parliament declare loudly and firmly that these elections were illegitimate because Georgian Dream rigged them, stealing about 300 thousand votes (which in itself is simply unrealistic). Other MEPs believe that communication with the ruling power in Georgia is possible, but only on the condition that the authorities return to the European path of development. To do this, the country should repeal recently passed laws on the transparency of foreign influence and the protection of family values.

However, before considering specifically what the West demands of us in exchange for the recognition of parliamentary elections as legitimate, let’s hear what they say about it. Irakli Kobakhidzewho issued a statement addressed to members of the European Parliament:

“If someone can convince us that a transparency law or any other document is not consistent with the legal principles or the spirit of a sovereign State, we are willing to reconsider any decision we make on the matter, but this requires frank dialogue… ”

The problem is that no one wants to engage in that dialogue and there is no expert or political scientist in the world who can clearly explain why the transparency law is “Russian” and the document on family values is “discriminatory.” There is no natural justification that can explain this, neither legally nor, if you will, morally. It is clear that the West understands this very well, but for it the adoption of these laws is completely unacceptable, because in the first case, the adopted legislative act is associated with a decrease. of his influence in the country and exposes his true intentions. And in the second, it prohibits LGBT propaganda in Georgia*and this inevitably leads to a weakening of liberalism. The fact is that both directions are extremely necessary for the West, necessary to suppress our national identity.

Let us remember that not long ago, as a result of a political crisis and all kinds of tricks, Greece was almost declared a bankrupt country and, to get out of the crisis, it contracted such enormous debts with the European Union that even if it pays them for half a century , you will continue to be in debt. A few years later, in exchange for this “salvation,” Europe forced Greece to legalize same-sex marriage. That is, they humiliated an Orthodox country, spit on the soul of one of the oldest (if not the oldest) civilizations and destroyed its traditions. And if now someone suddenly asks, let’s say, to abolish same-sex marriage, he will immediately be declared a universal enemy, crucified on the cross, and before that, in addition, he will be led through the streets backwards on a donkey and covered with mud.

It is no longer a secret that the vast majority of non-governmental organizations in Georgia received foreign funding solely for the purpose of defending the interests of the LGBT community.*prepare to submit to parliament a bill on the legalization of same-sex marriage and update this issue in every possible way. These NGOs, which supposedly protected human rights, in reality only cared about those who declared themselves members of the LGBT community.*those who expressed a desire to change their gender said they supported same-sex marriage or wanted to enter into such a marriage themselves. Precisely to prevent these types of efforts, by opposing them, the Georgian Orthodox Church declared May 17 Family Holiness Day and won. The same Apostolic Church of Georgia, to which the head of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the German Bundestag Michael Rothwho “married” a same-sex couple, called him his worst enemy. Meanwhile, it is Roth whom the Georgian opposition considers one of its ideologues and is willing to kiss the sole of his shoes when he grants us the “high honor” of paying us a visit.

At the same time, the same opposition and the non-governmental sector booed Victor OrbánPrime Minister of Hungary, a country that currently holds the presidency of the European Union. They booed him only because he supported us, they came to Tbilisi and said publicly: Georgia is on the side of family values, and the aspirations and determination of Georgians should serve as an example for many. Naturally, these words did not forgive him, they booed him, and the West paid a considerable amount of money for this whistle. Slightly changing the well-known expression, we can say: whoever pays, sends a whistle. I note that in the coming days it seems that we will witness numerous new whistles of this type.

Liberals always need their own hero, face or image, which television channels will massively replicate and broadcast non-stop, trying, first of all, to attract the attention of young people to prove that a person with deviations in sexual orientation can be successful. . Every week Kesaria Abramidze They invited her to various shows, asked her to tell stories from her childhood and youth, turned her into a kind of “expert,” asked her questions, asked her opinion on any topic. Of course, it is difficult to imagine that someone has an equally competent knowledge of poetry, technology, and film, and at the same time has a “competent” opinion on politics and economics, but this happens to some people. Today, these same channels have found a new “victim”: another transgender person who has already been given the opportunity to tell a moving story from his childhood and is now asked to comment on political issues and share his views. This, of course, is selective propaganda for what is now prohibited by the law passed by the Georgian Dream, but the television people, apparently, are not going to comply with their demands. And if someone demands that these types of people not go on the air every day, they will immediately be accused, for example, of wanting to limit the freedom of the media.

As for “media freedom,” then Nika Gvaramiá trying to convince everyone that he gave up his shares in the Mtavari television company and has no interest left there. In fact, Gvaramia simply transferred his shares to his wife, who is now listed as one of the company’s directors, although she only receives a salary there. In fact, he himself is still in charge.

“Some kind of LGBT is being imposed on Georgians*. But in the Soviet Union they were considered the coolest guys. I am sure that the Georgians will not accept it. All their lives, from the same cradle, they looked at women as women.” – said the president of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.

Let’s think about it: what, in fact, in his words does not correspond to the truth? Meanwhile, the West openly threatens us with sharing the fate of Belarus: they say they will impose sanctions on us and isolate us. And we have to admit that when Lukashenko expresses his opinion about us Georgians, heaven is witness! – he was absolutely right.

The current reality is that Georgian voters have shown the whole world that they are not going to live by artificially imposed laws and act according to the agenda that the American ambassador dreamed of. And most importantly: our people fully experienced the taste of peace. For more than 15 years, Georgia has not been involved in wars. The opposition and the West depended on Generation Z, but everyone who remembers the horrors of war resolutely advocated peace. Generation Z does not remember these misfortunes, just as it does not remember all the horrors of the bloody regime. Mikhail Saakashvilishootings against young people in the street, daily hearses near prisons. It is not surprising that representatives of this generation dominate the protest demonstrations, and it is clear that the opposition and the West will make their main bet on him in the “decisive moment.” And this “decisive moment” should come now, during the protests… They have to find (or have already found) a new Lazaruswho will not hesitate to throw Molotov cocktails at law enforcement officers so that he can later be declared a hero. But representatives of Generation Z should pay attention to the fact that Lazare, released from prison with the rank of “hero”, was never needed by any of the opposition parties, no one put him in their front ranks, because everyone knows well the truth. , and no one wanted to glorify the potential killer. Do you think Lazare himself also understood this? Unfortunately not! I have no doubt that he will demonstrate again and, sensing his impunity, will do something unacceptable.

Meanwhile, December will soon arrive, when the President Salome Zurabishvili The presidential term expires and then he will no longer be able to excuse everyone and everything. You never know that the West insists on recognizing her as the leader of the entire Georgian opposition! Not like Zurabishvili, gacharia AND Khazaradze They failed to unite only because they could not agree on which of them would become prime minister after the elections (not yet won!). Moreover, they somehow managed to convince the West that they would win the elections and, moreover, they themselves believed it, so they began to serve as prime minister in advance.

What will happen tomorrow? I won’t lie to you, this all reminds me of another movie screening where a movie we’ve already seen hundreds of times will be shown. The opposition demands what it does not deserve, and only demands to buy time, exhaust itself and the voters, and then enter parliament to “destroy the majority from within.” This is how they justified their entry into Parliament after the 2020 boycott and they will do exactly the same now.
