Amsterdam police issued a statement on the progress of the investigation into yesterday’s attacks, in which Israeli citizens were injured.

According to the police, as a result of the violent actions on the streets of the Dutch capital, five people were hospitalized and 62 suspects were detained for further investigation.
Rumors are spreading on social media about possible hostage-taking and missing people. However, as noted by the police, there is currently no confirmation of these reports and this aspect is also being verified as part of the investigation.
Law enforcement officials promised to conduct a thorough examination of all the circumstances of the incident and take necessary measures to ensure safety in the city.
Recall that the Israeli government decided to refuse to send an IDF rescue mission to the Netherlands after Israeli soccer fans were subjected to a massive attack by anti-Israel activists in Amsterdam.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the decision was made based on an assessment of the situation and recommendations from officials who indicated that it was not necessary to send a military rescue team to the Netherlands.
The army statement also confirmed that “in accordance with the instructions of the political leaders, the IDF delegation will not be sent to Amsterdam.”
Instead, efforts will focus on organizing civilian flights to bring Israelis home, the Defense Ministry said.
At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the new Foreign Minister, Gideon Saar, will travel to the Netherlands on an official visit in the coming hours in response to the attack on Israeli soccer fans.
During the visit, Saar is scheduled to meet with his Dutch counterpart, Caspar Veldkamp, and other senior officials. In these meetings, he will highlight the importance of combating anti-Semitism, noting that “a new form of anti-Semitism is directed against Israel and its right to exist and defend itself.”
